Chiropractic Care Randwick

Chiropractic care is a gentle, non-invasive method for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, especially those linked to the spine. By using hands-on techniques like spinal adjustments, it aims to restore alignment, improve mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance overall health.

At Fika Chiropractic, we go beyond symptom relief by identifying and addressing the root causes of discomfort.

Dr. Joey offers tailored, holistic treatment plans designed to work with your body’s natural healing processes, helping you achieve lasting wellness and a better quality of life.

Our Techniques

At Fika Chiropractic, we employ a variety of techniques tailored to each individual’s needs to ensure effective and holistic care. These include:

  • Gonstead Technique: A precise method focusing on structural spinal corrections.

  • Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT): A gentle approach for balancing the spine and nervous system.

  • Webster Technique: Designed specifically for pregnancy care.

  • Manual Adjustments & Diversified Adjustments: Hands-on techniques to restore mobility and alignment.

  • Activator Method: A low-force tool-assisted technique.

  • Active Release Technique (ART): Targeting soft tissue tension to improve mobility and function.

We empower your recovery with recommended rehab stretches and exercises to do at home, supporting lasting improvement, while providing a comprehensive, personalised treatment plan to align with your body’s natural healing processes.

Your Health Journey with us

Initial consultation

Your initial consultation is a chance for us to understand how your condition and your symptoms impact your daily life.

Dr. Joey will take a detailed clinical history and perform a thorough examination, including neurological, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal tests, to uncover the root cause of your issue. You may be requested to have X-rays at this point.

At Fika Chiropractic, believe that your health is a partnership, which is why in this consultation we will work closely with you to hear your health goals, and set clear, achievable goals which we’ll guide you towards in our time together.

Please allow approx. 40 - 45minutes for your initial consultation

Second Appointment

During your second visit, our chiropractor will review your findings, explain the condition of your spine and nervous system, and establish a working diagnosis.

Based on this diagnosis, a personalised treatment plan will be created to meet your needs. As you progress, we may recommend maintenance care, targeted exercises, or lifestyle adjustments to prevent recurrence.

You can also expect to receive a full spine adjustment during this visit.

Please allow approx. 30 minutes for this appointment.

Ongoing Care and Maintenance

When your initial goals have been met, we may recommend periodic maintenance adjustments, specific rehabilitation exercises, or lifestyle changes to help prevent problems from returning.

Dr. Joey will discuss this with you personalised as no two people are the same, and therefore we don’t have a cookie-cutter approach to care!

Frequently asked questions

  • Not at all. You are free to see a chiropractor on your own accord. However, if your GP decides that chiropractic care is the best option for you, your GP can provide you with up to 5 EPC (enhanced primary care) visits which are covered by Medicare.

  • It completely depends on you, your goals, and your problem. How long has the pain or concern been around for? How severe is it? How healthy do you want to become? No two people are the same, therefore, no two treatment plans are the same. Based on our chiropractors findings from your history and the examination process, we will cater a treatment plan specifically tailored to you.

  • ‘Remarkably’ according to a New Zealand study.

The New Zealand Government published an objective study of chiropractic. Many issues were studied, including cost effectiveness, chiropractic education and training, safety issues, and patient satisfaction.

Among other things, the resulting 377 page document concluded that chiropractic would have a positive influence on the health of a country.

The commission investigated two safety issues that had been commonly raised by chiropractic critics. The first being the safety of chiropractic spinal adjustments, and the second, the notion that seeking chiropractic care delays medical treatment. After extensive inquiry, the researchers found both safety concerns to be unfounded. Because of the lack of evidence to the contrary, the commissioners determined chiropractic care to be remarkably safe.

  • Prior to your first visit you will be required to fill out our new patient form. On your first visit you will meet with Dr Joey to discuss your current health concerns.

He will ask you additional questions about your health and history to get a clear picture of your entire health profile. From there we will complete a comprehensive, neurological, postural, orthopedic, and chiropractic examination on you, to help correctly diagnose your problem. Here you may be referred for x-rays (bulk billed through medicare).
Dr Joey will then explain your condition, how chiropractic can help, and discuss treatment options with you. If it is determined you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, you will be adjusted on your first visit.
